Knockout Tables

A Knock Out Table is an open table fastened to the out feed of a press with a 3rd driven roller system. It features guided air cylinders for your fixtures to be easily fastened to. These cylinders are easily adjustable without tools. This also includes a hold down system for your knock out board.

It has the ability to move left or right, forward or backward, up or down for the perfect set up. Material gets punched out of the web via the guided air cylinder with attached fixture in the shape of your part. It falls into a box or onto a conveyor for packing and shipping. Knock Out tables help save time in "picking" by hand and speed up production.

In Line Laminators

SDM's in line, cold, lamination systems are designed for our standard width new and rebuilt, high speed presses.Laminating unwinders will attach two materials together by pinching them together using a driven nip roller system. An ultrasonic sensor starts and stops the laminator to maintain the loop of material between the laminator and the inbound roller of the press. A 3rd driven roller will remove a PSA liner from a prior laminated material to form a sandwich with another material or remove a secondary liner from a PSA roll.

Unwind and Rewind Stands

An unwind stand unwinds material to the press. It is controlled by a variable speed motor drive in conjunction with the ultrasonic sensor that turns it on/off adjusting material feed into the press.

A rewind stand rewinds material coming off the press. It is controlled by a variable speed ac or dc drive and high quality pneumatic clutch to maintain tension of the material matrix exiting the automated, high speed, precision press.

XY Optics

When die cutting pre printed material more feed accuracy is usually needed between die cuts. In this example our customer needed to sandwich sheets of material between two rolls of clear material.(laminate) The spacing between sheets often varies. To solve this problem we added two laser controlled sensors to find a preprinted mark. One for the x axis (front to back) and one for the y axis (left to right) Our machine was programed to feed slightly short of the x mark then jog the material to the mark, once found material jogs (L to R) to find the y mark then the machine cuts the grouping of parts accurately. The picture shows the sensors held in their holder (red lights) and their operator control.

Heat Control

Heated platens are often used to heat the die rule and sometimes cutting plate to get a cleaner cut, or cut at less pressure, or even cut the part at all. The pictures show our control and a strip type heat platten.
